Generic Cleocin T 1% Topical Lotion contains Clindamycin lotion as its primary active ingredient, which is used to treat acne by reducing the number of skin lesions caused by acne. It belongs to the antibiotic class of drugs as it contains antibacterial properties that inhibit protein synthesis in the bacteria by binding to those particular sites, thereby stopping the multiplication of bacteria and reducing them.

Do not use any skin products or medications in the affected area. Only use generic Clindamycin 1% lotion as prescribed to you by your doctor and not as a general moisturizer unless suggested to do so by a medical professional. This medicine is for external use only; do not ingest it.

Let your doctor know if you have any of the following conditions:

• IBS, Crohn’s disease or colitis

• A large area of burnt skin

• Any allergies

• If you are pregnant or trying to conceive

Do not subject this medication to temperature changes, such as intense heat or cold.

It may take 2-6 weeks for the medicine to work and 12 weeks to take full effect. Please get in touch with your doctor if your condition gets worse or stays the same after 6 weeks of use.

Cleocin T 1 Percent Topical Lotion may cause mild side effects such as:

• Itching or redness on the skin

• Dry or oily skin

• Skin Peeling

• Mild Skin irritation

• Diarrhea

• Fever

These side effects are usually mild and disappear after you stop using the medication. If these effects persist or worsen, please contact your healthcare provider.

Some more serious side effects of this medication may be;

• An allergic reaction to the medication

• Formation of a C. difficile infection

• Severe Diarrhoea

• Stomach pain or cramping/ blood or mucus in stool

Do not treat the diarrhea with over-the-counter medications. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if it lasts more than 2 days. If you develop an allergic reaction, seek emergency medical support.

• Wash your hands before and after use of this medication. Pour a small amount of medication into your hands and apply a thin coat onto the affected areas of your skin.

• Do not let it go into your eyes, nostrils, or sensitive areas. If it does go into these areas, rinse the area thoroughly with tap water.

• Store it at room temperature, and do not freeze the solution in the bottle. Keep out of the reach of children. If it is to be used by any child below the age of 12, talk to your medical care provider for any further precautions you might need to take.

• If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. Do not double-dose yourself. If you feel like you have used too much of this medication, contact your doctor immediately.
